Gryphon Psychology also provides Psychological services to the private and public sector. All Psychologists have extensive experience and can provide counselling and psychological assessment and treatment.

Specialist services are also available for:

• Return to work and Rehabilitation programs

Medicare Registered and Rebates

When you access psychological services at Gryphon Psychology you may be eligible for either a Medicare rebate or a rebate under your own private health insurance policy.

Medicare Rebates:

Gryphon Psychology is registered to provide psychological services under Medicare Australia. Under this new Medicare scheme, Gryphon Psychology can provide treatment to clients who may be experiencing mental health problems who are referred by a medical doctor. These clients are then able to claim a Medicare rebate for such services

• Medicare allows up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group sessions per year
• To be eligible for Medicare rebates a referral with a mental health care plan is needed from your doctor.
• The Medicare rebate is between $80.00 and $118.00
• You cannot use Medicare and then claim the difference on private health insurance.

Private Health Insurance Rebates:

If you have private health insurance you may be eligible for a rebate on the hourly rate. Private health rebates can vary depending on the health fund you are in. You can find out what rebate you are entitled to by simply calling your health fund.
